Don't fully know in dev side but Google Play is slower updating as updates need to be verified, ios tend to get updates first as a quicker way to test features. Not always the case but it can 50/50

Not sure how AI would make these devices safer. The network relies on trustworthy data, which can't be ensured with older OS versions as they can be easily tricked into transmitting false data.
