Because you are using the wrong platforms.On a real DEX like https://haveno-reto.com you would have paid 0% trade fee and only a small markup to the seller. You would also have known exactly how much you will receive beforehand.

It's the best ""cryptocurrency"" in that it actually works as peer to peer electronic cash. It isn't the best if you are trying to sell to a greater fool (i.e bitcoin, the worlds first ""digital gold"" or whatever they are saying now).
