Not a good thing when both are run with the same keys, but It can be mitigated that way you pointed. You can keep your old server as a backup if you like.

Thank you. What if the old validator would get online at a later stage again and accidentally autostarts metalgo? Would this be a major problem or can simply be cleared by shutting it down and restarting the service on the new machine?

Hi, you just need to move the keys to a new validator. How do I do it:1) Start new server, install metalgo, firewall, etc.2) Wait until it's bootstrapped.3) Replace the keys on the new server.4) Shutdown your old server or just stop metalgo.5) Restar[...]
